About the Programme

The Southern Nigeria Agricultural Student Fellows Programme is a competitive academic and industry fellowship designed to identify, train and elevate outstanding agriculture students across Southern Nigeria.

The programme equips Fellows with leadership skills, field exposure, research capacity and career opportunities through AGIX Africa’s partnerships with agribusiness companies, development organisations and government institutions.

A core mission of the Fellowship is to build a pipeline of young researchers, innovators and agribusiness leaders who will shape the future of agriculture in Southern Nigeria.

Who Can Apply

Undergraduate Agriculture Students

Students currently enrolled in accredited universities across Southern Nigeria who are studying agriculture or related fields.

Students with Leadership Potential

Individuals who have demonstrated interest in agribusiness, agritech, sustainability or student leadership roles.

Final-Year or Penultimate-Year Students

Students preparing for internships, research projects or industry-based training who want structured exposure and mentorship

AGIX Africa works closely with universities, faculties, and agricultural departments across Southern Nigeria to strengthen student participation and institutional engagement in the Fellowship. Each partner institution may nominate a Campus Coordinator who supports student outreach, application guidance and university-level activities connected to the programme.

The Fellowship encourages collaboration with academic bodies, research institutes and student associations seeking to broaden opportunities for young researchers and agribusiness talent.
